In January 2016, Finmeccanica opened a new Eurofighter Typhoon maintenance training centre at this site.
Six engineers from Saudi Arabia, working for the Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), began training for six months from January 2016 "on how to maintain the Finmeccanica Airborne and Space Systems Praetorian defensive aids sub-system" as part of the UK-Saudi Salam deal for Eurofighter Typhoons.
The Praetorian "design authority, technical and support teams" are located at the site.
