On 30 January 2017, Jane's reported that an EU court had upheld sanctions that affected Almaz-Antey, including freezing some company funds. "The court found that because Almaz-Antey builds weapons for the Russian military, the military that engaged in the annexation and support for rebel groups in Ukraine, it had appropriately been ensnared by the sanctions."
