In August 2007, MBDA (37.5% owned by BAE) was contracted by Libya for the provision of 1000 Milan anti-tank missiles for €168 million China Daily, 3.8.2007. This deal was agreed soon after then Prime Minister Tony Blair, accompanied by Guy Griffiths of BAE/MBDA, visited the country and signed an "Accord on a Defence Cooperation and Defence Industrial Partnership" (Jane's Defence Weekly, 8.8.2007).
MBDA is a "world leader in missiles and missile systems" owned by BAE Systems (37.5%), EADS (37.5%) and Finmeccanica (25%).
